Winter Storm Watch this Weekend
WINTER STORM ALERT – HIGHLAND PARK
The National Weather Service is forecasting a winter storm this weekend that will impact Highland Park with significant snowfall and the potential for ice accumulation.
For the safety of our community, residents are reminded to remove vehicles before the storm from the sides of streets posted with signs that read “No Parking When Snow Covered.” Vehicles left in these areas are subject to ticketing and towing, as they prevent DPW from safely and effectively plowing roadways.
Community members are urged to prepare now:
• Avoid unnecessary travel during the storm
• Charge cell phones and essential devices
• Keep vehicles fueled and stocked with emergency supplies
• Use space heaters safely; never operate generators or grills indoors
• Clear snow from home vents to prevent carbon monoxide buildup
• Clear sidewalks as required by ordinance following the storm
Please give DPW crews ample room as they plow and treat roadways.
Life-threatening emergency: Dial 9-1-1
Non-emergencies: Highland Park Police Department at 732-572-3800
Stay safe and stay warm.
