Police Seek Help Locating Missing Newark Woman Suffering from Bipolar Disorder
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. requests the public’s help in locating Marlene Lewter, 61, of Newark, who was reported missing on January 8, 2026.
Lewter, diagnosed with bipolar disorder, was last seen in the 20 block of Oxford Street. She wore a black jacket, black pants with a rip at the knee, cheetah-print sneakers, and a brown purse. Lewter, a black female, is 5’6” inches, 150 pounds, and has brown eyes and brown hair.
Director Miranda urges anyone with information on the Lewter’s whereabouts to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
