Heavy Snow and Ice Expected; Travel Impacts Likely

Princeton, NJ — A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the Princeton area and is in effect from 7:00 PM Saturday through 1:00 PM EST Monday.

Forecasts indicate a significant winter storm with heavy snow and mixed precipitation. Total snow accumulations of 10 to 15 inches are expected, along with ice accumulations of approximately one-tenth of an inch. Snow is anticipated to begin early Sunday morning and continue through Monday morning.

Impacts:
Travel conditions may become very difficult to impossible, particularly during the storm’s peak. Hazardous road conditions are expected and could significantly impact the Monday morning commute.

Preparedness and Safety:
Residents are urged to take necessary precautions. Those who must travel should keep an emergency kit in their vehicle, including a flashlight, food, water, and blankets.

Parking and Snow Removal Regulations:

  • All vehicles parked in Princeton must be removed from municipal roads to allow the Department of Public Works to effectively clear snow.

  • All sidewalks must be cleared of snow and ice within 24 hours following the end of the snowfall.
