Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection to a December 3^rd shooting incident.

On December 3^rd at approximately 9:29 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 300 block of West 12^th Street in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, police located a 24-year-old male gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The case was assigned to Detective Avery Stewart of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Stewart identified 29-year-old Edward Shepard as the shooting suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest.

On January 23^rd police located Edwards in the 1000 block of South Market St. and took him into custody without incident.  

Edwards has been charged with the following offenses:

• Attempted Murder (First Degree)
• Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
• Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony
