UPCOMING WINTER STORM
The Long Beach Township Police Department is urging all residents and visitors to take precautions as a winter storm is expected to impact our area over the next 24–48 hours. Winter storms can create dangerous conditions quickly, including heavy snow, ice, reduced visibility, and hazardous roadways. PLEASE TAKE THE FOLLOWING STEPS: • Travel Only If Necessary • • Avoid unnecessary driving during the storm. • • If you must drive, slow down, increase following distance, and keep headlights on. Watch for Ice • Bridges, overpasses, and shaded areas may freeze first. • • Walk carefully on sidewalks, steps, and driveways. Prepare Your Home • Charge phones and devices. • • Have flashlights, batteries, and essential supplies ready. • • Check heating systems and bring pets indoors. Clear Snow & Ice Safely • Shovel early and often to prevent heavy buildup. • • Stay hydrated and take breaks to avoid overexertion. Emergency Access Reminder • Please keep roadways and hydrants clear, when possible, to assist emergency services. • If you are home leave your front lights on so our DPW does not inadvertently block your driveway with excess snow buildup. Check and Clean Construction sites • Cover dumpsters to prevent flying debris • Secure all building material • Secure Port-a-Johns to utility poles and away from the street so plows can get through
*****reminder, there are no commercial vehicles allowed on the back roads*****
