The Matawan Police Department and Office of Emergency Management are currently monitoring a significant winter storm forecasted to affect our area beginning this evening, January 24th into Monday, January 26th. Current forecasts indicate sowfall amounts anywhere between six and sixteen inches and potential ice accumulation of 0.1-0.3 inches. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the entire area from 7:00pm this evening, through 1:00pm Monday, January 26th.
Please be reminded that current Borough Ordinance
prohibits parking on any Borough street when snow-covered and mandates the clearing of sidewalks within 12 hours of daylight after the snow has fallen.
