National Weather Service Issues Winter Storm Watch For Bergen County From 3:00 PM Sunday Through 6:00 PM Monday
Please listen to this message in its entirety.
Snow starts in the very early morning hours Sunday and continues through Monday morning. Total snow accumulation is expected to average 6– 10 inches around the County, with locally higher amounts possible. Heaviest snowfall will be from Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening. Snowfall rates could be between 1-2 inches per hour, with reduced visibility. As the storm moves closer, changes in track could result in mixing, which can lower snow totals. Without mixing, snow totals would be higher.
Temperatures during the day Sunday and Monday will be in the low to mid 20’s and nightly temperatures will be 10-15 degrees. Wind chill values will be between 0F – 5F. Temperatures from Tuesday through next Sunday will continue to be in the lower 20’s during the day and single digits at night, with wind chill values below zero. Winds will be 10 - 15 MPH.
The Monday morning commute will be hazardous and slippery. Use caution while traveling.
