A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 3AM Sunday until 6PM Monday with heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 10 and 14 inches are possible. It is strongly recommended that you do not travel during the storm.
To assist the Department of Public Works and their snow plowing operations, please remove all cars from the public roads. If you must park in the street, please follow all parking regulations including the alternate side of the street parking ordinance. For streets covered under the snow emergency ordinance (B.O. 194-9), all cars must be removed from the street to avoid being summonsed and towed.
Please plan ahead and move cars before the snow falls. Municipal parking lots at Elm Place, Beechwood Place and the Public Library may be used during the storm.
As a reminder, snow and ice must be removed from sidewalks within 12 hours of daylight after the snowfall ends (B.O. 247-17). Snow may not be shoveled or placed in the streets as it creates a hazard (B.O. 247-17).
The Leonia Volunteer Fire Department is asking for your assistance during the storm. Please help clear snow from fire hydrants if possible. This will save valuable time in the event of an emergency.
