INCIDENT: Lethal Force Encounter
LOCATION: 3782 Tyler Street, Riverside
SUSPECT(S): Jaque Rabon, 23-years-old, Resident of Loma Linda
SUMMARY: On Thursday, January 22, 2026, at approximately 10:00 A.M., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department personnel assigned to the Specialized Enforcement Division attempted to arrest Jaque Rabon, a documented gang member, for a felony, no-bail warrant for P.C. 211 - Robbery; P.C. 245(B) – Assault with a Semiautomatic Firearm and P.C. 29800(A)(1) – Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm. During the attempted arrest, a lethal force encounter occurred and Rabon succumbed to his injuries at the scene. No law enforcement officers or bystanders were injured.
The Riverside Police Department and Department of Justice responded to the scene. The Department of Justice will assume the investigation, and any further inquiries should be directed to them by calling (916) 210-2871.
