On 01/23 at approximately 1829 hours, officers responded to shots-fired call in the 3900 block of Hibbert Ct. Multiple reporting parties stated they heard approximately three gunshots and believed several individuals were still inside the residence. Officers were advised that a possible suspect had fled the location in a dark-colored Honda Accord. Responding officers located the vehicle and conducted a high-risk stop at Los Angeles Ave and Barnes St. The suspect was detained, and a handgun registered in his name was recovered from the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that following a family altercation, he retrieved a firearm from the trunk of his vehicle, returned to the residence, and pointed the firearm at one of the family members. He then exited the residence alone and fired the weapon approximately three times into the air. The suspect is not a resident of Simi Valley and was booked for violations of 245(a)(1) PC, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and 273(a) PC, Child Endangerment.
