WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM SUNDAY TO 6 PM EST MONDAY
* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. The snow may mix with or change to
sleet Sunday evening. Total snow and sleet accumulations between
10 and 14 inches. A brief changeover to light freezing rain along
with a light glaze of ice may occur Sunday night. The
precipitation may go back to light snow late Sunday night.
Isolated wind gusts around 35 mph possible Sunday afternoon and
evening.
* WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey and southeast New York.
* WHEN...From 3 AM Sunday to 6 PM EST Monday.
* IMPACTS...Roads will become snow covered and hazardous.
Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing
snow
*ADDITIONAL... Refrain from travel unless absolutely necessary. Be aware of snow emergency streets in the area of your home. Any vehicles left parked on these streets will be impounded. Snow emergency streets will be strictly enforced. Please make every effort to remove any other vehicles parked along other roads so deep snow can be plowed to the curb. Communicate with neighbors and make an effort to share driveway space. Be aware of fire hydrants near your home and make a clear path around it to assist the fire department. Do not throw or snow blow snow into the street.
*PREPARATIONS... Storm is expected to last 24 to 36 hours. Make preparations now. Have food and medication for the next three days and consider refuel vehicles. Due to a possible mix of snow and ice, the area may experience power outages. Charge cell phones and electrical devices before the storm. Never run a generator inside a home or garage.
