Snowstorm Update: Heavy Snow / Sleet / Freezing Rain Expected Tomorrow - Please Move Vehicles From Roadways
The Monroe Township Office of Emergency Management (OEM) continues to closely monitor conditions and prepare for the anticipated snowstorm expected to begin early tomorrow morning and continue through Monday morning.
At this time, the National Weather Service is forecasting snowfall totals of approximately 8 to 12 inches in our area. The heaviest snowfall is expected from Sunday morning through the early afternoon hours, followed by periods of sleet and freezing rain. As with all weather events, forecasted snowfall amounts and timing remain subject to change.
The Monroe Township Department of Public Works will operate continuously around the clock to restore roadways to safe and passable conditions as quickly as possible. To assist with snow removal operations, residents are reminded that all vehicles and garbage containers must be removed from roadways in accordance with Monroe Township Ordinances 122-21 and 122-23.
Unnecessary travel during this storm poses a serious risk to public safety. Hazardous road conditions may significantly delay emergency response and snow removal operations. Residents are strongly encouraged to remain off the roadways unless travel is absolutely essential.
Please report all power outages directly to JCP&L at 1-888-LIGHTSS.
