Due to the winter storm expected tomorrow, the Town of West Springfield will be implementing a town-wide parking ban to allow crews to safely clear roadways and respond to emergencies.
Parking Ban Details
• Begins: Sunday, January 25 at 7:00 a.m.
• Ends: Monday, January 26 at 7:00 p.m.
During this time, parking is prohibited on both sides of all main roads, side streets, and in cul-de-sacs. Vehicles parked in these areas may be ticketed or towed to ensure safe and effective snow removal.
Trash & Recycling Update
Trash collection scheduled for Monday, January 26 will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week, similar to a holiday schedule:
Council on Aging Services
Meals on Wheels service and Council on Aging van transportation will be canceled for the day. Additional closure decisions will be made tomorrow afternoon.
How Residents Can Help
We strongly encourage residents to:

Check in on loved ones, especially seniors, neighbors, or anyone who may need extra support

Be prepared to stay home if possible

Ensure vehicles are off the road so DPW crews, contractors, and first responders can safely do their jobs
After the Storm

Sidewalks must be cleared within 24 hours after the storm ends

If you are able, please assist the Fire Department by clearing fire hydrants in your neighborhood
