Advisory
At approximately 0515 hours this morning, January 24, 2026, a 9-1-1 call was placed to the West Windsor Communications Center from a resident of Village Rd. West. They advised that someone had broken into their residence through a window, stole keys and additional property, and fled in one of their vehicles. The residents were home at the time of the incident.
Patrol Officers and Detectives from the Investigations Unit responded to process the scene. Detectives were able to track the stolen vehicle to the Newark, NJ area and the vehicle was ultimately recovered a short while later in Harrison, NJ. The case is still actively being investigated.
Please note that there have been multiple residential burglaries over the last few weeks throughout different areas of town. One individual has been arrested and charged. It is believed that there are two additional unrelated crews involved in the other incidents. Leads have been developed in those incidents and are actively being investigated.
The West Windsor Police Department urges all residents to be vigilant and secure your residences prior to turning in for the evening or when leaving the house. Ensure doors are locked, first floor windows are secured, alarms are activated, and surveillance cameras activated if applicable.
Our agency has been taking proactive measures to enhance our ability to detect and track individuals responsible for these burglaries. Some of those measures include the installation of license plate readers and cameras throughout the township. These measures are already proving to be valuable tools.
We ask that our residents contact our dispatch center if you observe anything that may seem out of place in your neighborhood. We have increased patrols throughout our neighborhoods and will be diligently investigating these most recent incidents to hold those responsible accountable.
