TOWN OF WESTPORT EMERGENCY ALERT
First Selectman Kevin Christie has signed a Declaration of Local Civil Preparedness Emergency for the Town of Westport, effective Sunday, January 25, at 6:00 AM.
This action activates the Town’s Emergency Operations Plan in response to the approaching severe winter storm.
Current Forecast & Impacts:
- Snowfall: 12 to 16 inches expected.
- Timing: Heavy snow throughout Sunday, mixing with sleet in the evening.
- Hazards: High winds (gusts 20-30+ mph) and extreme cold to follow.
- STAY OFF THE ROADS: Travel will be dangerous to impossible. Keep roads clear for plows and emergency vehicles.
- Parking Ban: Ensure no vehicles are parked on public streets to facilitate snow removal.
- Emergencies: Call 911 for life-threatening emergencies only.
