Manville OEM Winter Storm Update 1/25

Manville residents here is an update and some reminders on this snowy morning:

1) Power Outages

To track and report power outages, please use the website or mobile app provided by your utility company:

PSE&G: https://outagecenter.pseg.com

PSEG offers mobile app that allow you to receive outage updates and report outages directly from your phone.

2) Snow Removal and Parking

Our Department of Public Works crews started covering routes at 4am this morning, and will continue working throughout the storm.

Please, remove vehicles from Snow Emergency Routes. Vehicles parked in violation are currently being ticketed and towed. We will advise when vehicles can be parked back on these routes after the storm has ended and plowing and salting operations are completed.

For Non Snow Emergency Roads we ask that if possible that you move your vehicle to a driveway or your front lawn. “When in doubt, Move it off the route”

Reminder that the following lots are available for parking.

VFW - 600 Washington Ave - Main Lot Only

Brooks Blvd Lot - Between North 3rd and North 4th Ave

Borough Hall - North 1st Ave Lower Lot

Main Street Municipal Lot

Manville Public Library

Residents are reminded to park in a space and not block access in or out of the lots. Please move vehicles within 12 hours after storm has ended.

3) Travel Advisory

Residents are strongly urged to avoid travel during the storm. Staying off the roads protects your safety, allows DPW crews to do their work effectively, and ensures that Police, Fire and EMS are available for true emergencies.

4) Resident Responsibilities

Property owners are responsible for shoveling sidewalks and are asked to clear snow from any fire hydrant located in front of their property. Keeping hydrants accessible is critical in the event of an emergency.

5. Emergency Services Staffing

OEM activated our Emergency Operations Center at 7:00am and is working remotely. The Police Department has increased staff on shift for the Day and Night Shifts. The Fire Department has a crew standing by in the firehouse and EMS has a crew available for any emergency calls.

We remind residents to only call 9-1-1 in the event of emergency. Do not call 9-1-1 to report a snow complaint.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping keep our community safe. Please continue to monitor this page for updates as the storm progresses.

Regards,
Director Bentz
