City of Somersworth
WINTER STORM PARKING BAN
January 23, 2026
CITY-WIDE PARKING BAN STARTING SUNDAY JANUARY 25 AT 1PM-TUESDAY JANUARY 27 AT 8AM
Given the weather forecast for a significant snow storm event impacting our area, starting later this weekend, a City-wide winter storm parking ban will be in effect for Somersworth. No on-street parking will be allowed from:
Sunday, January 25 at 1:00pm and ending on Tuesday , January 27, at 8am
All vehicles parked on City Streets will be ticketed and towed while the ban is in effect.
This storm will result heavy snow accumulation combined with temperatures well below 20 degrees. It is likely City plow crews will need to modify the methods used to clear roads to include use of sand for road traction for snow packed roads as salt treatment will be not as effective in these colder predicted temperatures.
Further announcements will be made on social media if the parking ban schedule needs to be modified due to storm conditions.
The City’s Snow Emergency Hotline is: (603) 692-9131 for updates on Parking Bans.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this parking ban, please contact the Somersworth Police Department Non-Emergency line at (603) 692-3131.
