1. Carjacking Arrest (1645) 5600 Block of North Pershing Avenue, Lakeview District
The female victim, 28, and the known suspect were arguing in the listed area. The suspect struck the victim and forcefully took the victim’s vehicle. Officers located the vehicle. The suspect fled on foot but was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. A search revealed that the suspect was in possession of a firearm. ARRESTED: Jason Smith, 34, for carjacking, resisting arrest, battery, and weapon charges.
2. Assault with a Deadly Weapon (0335) 300 Block of Woodstock Drive, Lakeview District
The male victim, 26, was in the listed area when the known suspect purposefully struck him with her vehicle and fled. The victim was transported to an area hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. SUSPECT: Hispanic female adult.
