Advisory

Winter Storm Update

A Winter Storm Warning and State of Emergency both remain in effect for our area. The Department of Public Works is continuing with its plowing operations throughout town overnight and tomorrow morning, and will also be salting roadways as needed after the snowfall ends.

Please stay off the roads through midday Monday for both traveling and parking purposes to provide plows and emergency services with unobstructed access. The Westfield Police Department has been issuing citations for cars parked on the street and will continue to do so.

For those residents parked in Lot 4 behind Baron's or at the Memorial Pool lot, please remove cars from those locations after plowing is completed--and no later than 2:00 PM on Monday--so that the lots can be cleared. Tickets will be issued for cars left after that point.

CANCELLATIONS
We have been advised by Interstate Waste Management that curbside recycling for Zone 1 has been moved from Monday to Tuesday, and all remaining zones will be delayed by one day this week.

Town Hall and the Conservation Center will be closed on Monday, and the Westfield Public Schools advised earlier today that schools will also be closed.

SHOVELING
Shoveling crews began initial work on Town-owned sidewalks today and will continue on Monday.

Sidewalks are the responsibility of the abutting property owner and must be cleared within 24 hours after the snow has stopped falling. In addition, the shoveling or blowing of snow into a plowed street is banned.
