Due to the ongoing winter storm and forecast, Town Hall and Town offices will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026.
Sanitation and Recycling Services
There will be no garbage pickup on Monday. The schedule will shift one day with a Saturday pickup added. Monday's garbage pickup will move to Tuesday, Tuesday's to Wednesday and so on:
- Monday, 1/26: No garbage pickup
- Tuesday, 1/27: Monday’s garbage pickup
- Wednesday, 1/28: Tuesday's garbage pickup
- Thursday, 1/29: Cardboard and paper pickup
- Friday, 1/30: Thursday's garbage pickup
- Saturday, 1/31: Friday's garbage pickup
State of Emergency
The Town’s State of Emergency (PDF) remains in effect.
Warming Center
The Tower Room* at Town Hall remains open as a warming center.
*The Tower Room is located on the 3rd floor of Town Hall. If using the elevator, select the 2nd floor. The Tower Room is also accessible by stairs.
Emergency Alerts
The Town of Mount Pleasant has an emergency notification system, Nixle, that notifies residents of urgent, time sensitive, matters by text and email. Examples of the type of alerts you would receive via Nixle are road closures and dangerous road conditions. We encourage residents to register for Nixle alerts, if you have not done so already.
Power Outages
In the event of power outages, please contact Con Edison directly at 1-800-752-6633. Avoid all downed wires and treat them as live.
