Snow Removal Reminder for Residents
As you clear snow from your sidewalks and driveways, please do not push, shovel, or plow snow into the street or roadway.
This includes pushing snow back into the road after plows have passed. Township Code § 175-1 specifically prohibits placing snow in the middle of the roadway
Keeping snow out of the roadway helps:
Emergency vehicles get through
Maintain safe driving lanes
Prevent refreezing and icy conditions
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as our crews work around the clock to keep roads safe.
So where should the snow go?
Snow should stay on your property, such as:
- Lawns or landscaped areas
- Along the edge of your property, off the roadway and shoulder
- Spread out (“feathered”) so it does not extend back into the street
