Level 2 Snow Emergency: Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Only those who feel it is necessary to drive should be out on the roadways. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work.

Stay inside to prevent exposure. If you must go outside; dress properly for the weather to prevent hypothermia and frostbite. Wear a warm coat, gloves, and a hat, dress in layers, cover exposed skin, especially your nose, ears, fingers and toes. Choose shoes or boots with sturdy non-slip soles and that will keep your feet dry. Bring blankets, extra clothing or hand warmers for extra heat.

If you must travel, use extreme caution, keep you gas tank as full as possible, increase your following distance to 5-6 seconds as it takes longer to slow down during these conditions. Keep your mobile devices charge and ensure you have emergency contacts saved including emergency roadside assistance, insurance provider and a towing company. Consider keeping a power bank for your phone in your car in case your car loses power

Check on your neighbors, especially those that are elderly or may have specific access and functional needs.

Pay attention to local weather forecasts and follow advice of public safety officials.
