WINTER STORM CLEANUP REMINDER – PLEASE READ

Now that the winter storm has passed, residents are reminded of the following important cleanup and safety requirements:

Fire Hydrants
New Jersey State Law requires property owners to clear snow from fire hydrants within 24 hours after a snowstorm. Please clear a path from the hydrant to the street and maintain a three-foot radius around the hydrant located on or adjacent to your property.

Sidewalks and Snow Removal
Residents are required to shovel the full width of sidewalks, including driveway aprons, within 24 hours after snowfall has ended. When shoveling or snow blowing, do not place snow into the street, as this creates hazardous conditions and additional work for the Department of Public Works.

Parking Restrictions
Due to the large amount of snow along the sides of streets, overnight parking remains suspended on all Borough streets until further notice. Snowbanks restrict safe parking and narrow travel lanes.

Failure to comply with any of the above is in violation of Borough Ordinance and subject to a summons.

Borough Hall
Borough Hall is open today from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Thank you for your cooperation as DPW crews continue cleanup efforts and for helping keep Ho-Ho-Kus safe and accessible for emergency responders, pedestrians, and motorists.

Instructions:

Please read this alert carefully and take any appropriate action as necessary.
