Operations Closure and Emergency Warming Centers – January 27, 2026
Due to icy weather conditions and extremely cold temperatures, M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County will be closed on Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
To support residents during this weather event, the Department will continue operating three emergency warming centers located in the North, Central, and South portions of the County. These locations provide safe, heated spaces for individuals and families without heat, those experiencing homelessness, or anyone seeking relief from the cold. One location will remain open 24 hours a day until further notice.

Residents are encouraged to limit travel, check on neighbors—especially older adults and individuals with disabilities—and take precautions to prevent cold-related injuries. The Department will continue monitoring conditions and share updates as needed.
