A Message from the Haledon Office of Emergency Management

WINTER STORM RECOVERY - ENSURE ALL SIDEWALKS AND VEHICLES ARE SHOVELED -  DO NOT SHOVEL SNOW INTO ROADWAY - ENFORCEMENT UNDERWAY

On behalf of Mayor Michael Johnson and Haledon Emergency Management Coordinator Carlos Aymat, the Haledon Office of Emergency Management provides the following update regarding the ongoing winter storm.

The Borough of Haledon continues storm recovery operations. While snowfall has ended, dangerously cold temperatures will persist, and untreated surfaces may remain icy.

Weather Snapshot (Haledon):
Tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026, expect partly cloudy conditions with a high near 18 degrees and a low near 8 degrees. Cold conditions will continue through the week, increasing the risk of refreezing on roads, sidewalks, and driveways.

Borough Operations Tuesday, January 27, 2026:
Borough Offices at the Haledon Municipal Complex will have a delayed opening at 9:00 AM to allow employees to report safely.

Garbage Collection Updates:
West Side residents will have regularly scheduled garbage pickup tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
East Side residents with Monday pickup should place garbage out on their next scheduled pickup day, Thursday, January 29, 2026.

School Delayed Openings, Tuesday, January 27, 2026:
Manchester Regional High School doors open at 9:00 AM with first period beginning at 9:30 AM.
Haledon Public School opens at 9:45 AM with homeroom beginning at 10:00 AM.
Passaic County Technical Vocational Schools will operate on a two hour delayed opening.

Safety Reminder:
Check on elderly, disabled, and pets. Do NOT throw snow into roadways. This creates hazardous conditions and increases the risk of refreezing and dangerous travel.

Please continue to use caution, watch for black ice, and thank you for your cooperation as recovery efforts continue.
