Following this past weekend’s Winter Storm, Governor Sherrill has ended the State of Emergency and subsequent travel bans issued for all 21 Counties across the State. The Township received approximately 12-13 inches of snow with air temperatures and windchill’s below the average for our area. Throughout the storm, our emergency services responded to a varity of emergencies while the DPW worked to maintain the roadways and assist emergency services with their responses. Currently, the DPW is still working on clearing and widening the roadways to ensure they remain useable to vehicular traffic.
A few post storm reminders:
- Placing, Throwing or Blowing snow into the street is prohibited under Township Ordinance 407-6.
- Fire Hydrants should be cleared with a 3’ radius around them to ensure they are ready for use in the event of an emergency per Township Ordinance 407-3.
- Check generators, snow blowers, gas cans and any other emergency supplies to ensure they are restocked and ready for operational use for the next time they are needed.
Vehicle Reminders:
- All Snow and Ice shall be removed from vehicles before they drive on any public roadway to ensure the safety of its passengers and other motorists per N.J.S.A. 39:4-77.1.

Looking ahead, weather stations and news networks are monitoring the potential for another Winter Weather event the weekend of 01/31/26 – 02/01/26. As this time period approaches and more data are gathered regarding the weather forecast, additional information will be forthcoming.
