Snow Emergency Update - Tuesday, January 27, 2026
The curb to curb plowing is going slower than expected due cars not being moved. If your street has not been plowed curb to curb by WATERVLIET - DPW (PRECEDED BY THE WATERVLIET POLICE) by 7:00 p.m. tonight (Tuesday, January 27th), plowing will resume at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning (Wednesday, January 28th). We will use the same process with the police coming up your street with sirens instructing residents to move their vehicles.
Vehicles that are not moved will be towed, and owners will be fined $100 in addition to the $200 towing fee. Those whose vehicles are towed will need to visit the Police Department where they can pick up a copy of their ticket. Vehicle owners will then need to take the ticket to City Hall, Finance Office to pay the fee and fine and Finance will direct vehicle owners where to pick up the vehicle.
City Hall will be open until 6:00 p.m. tonight (Tuesday, January 27th) to take payments for anyone who was towed and will reopen at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.
Residents are advised to continue checking social media, the website and City Hall for updates.
