LaGrange County has returned to a Watch (Orange) Travel Status.
A “Watch” Means that conditions are threatening to the safety of the public. During a "watch" local travel advisory, only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended, and emergency action plans should be implemented by businesses, schools, government agencies, and other organizations.
If you are able, please stay off the roads for your safety as well as others. If you must be out, please plan accordingly by making sure your gas tank is full, having a windshield scraper, jumper cables, a small shovel, flashlight, cell phone, blanket and additional warm clothing. Let someone know your route of travel.
County Highway trucks have been battling the wind and snow all day and have done a great job. As they end for the day, roads will be drifted over very quickly, especially the north-south roads. Plows will be on the roads by 4:30 on Wednesday morning.
