Man Driving Under the Influence Arrested Following Vehicle Pursuit and Crash

INCIDENT: VC2800.2(A)- Felony Evading, Disregard for Safety
VC23152(B)- Driving under the influence of alcohol
LOCATION: 9000 Block of Foothill Blvd, Rancho Cucamonga
SUSPECT(S): Hugo Tostado, 36-year-old, Resident of Fontana
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Monday, January 26, 2026, at approximately 5:05 p.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station responded to a call for service reference an unknown male subject who was stumbling in the parking lot and got into the driver’s seat of a vehicle.
Deputies arrived on scene and located the vehicle, occupied by an unknown male, later identified as Hugo Tostado. Deputies attempted to contact Tostado who was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Tostado fled the location before deputies made contact, and a pursuit ensued.
Tostado refused to yield, willfully and recklessly evaded deputies for several miles, before hitting another vehicle. Tostado continued to evade deputies after the traffic collision and was apprehended a short distance later.
Hugo Tostado was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for VC2800.2(A)- Felony evading, disregard for safety, and VC23152(B)-driving under the influence of alcohol.
