INCIDENT: P.C. 273.5(A) - Spousal Abuse
LOCATION: 149000 Block of Wintun Trail, Big River, CA
SUSPECT(S): Harold Cooke, 79-years-old, Resident of Big River, CA
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Sunday, January 25, 2026, at approximately 2:27 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to the 149000 block of Wintun Trail reference a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, deputies learned that the suspect had fled the area prior to their arrival. The suspect was identified as Harold Cooke. During the investigation, deputies determined that Cooke allegedly assaulted the victim. The victim declined medical attention at the scene. Despite an extensive search of the area, deputies were unable to locate Cooke at that time and subsequently obtained an arrest warrant for his arrest.
On Monday, January 26, 2026, at approximately 9:10 a.m., deputies located Cooke driving in the area of Del Rey and Papago Trail. Deputies conducted a traffic enforcement stop during which Cooke was taken into custody without incident. He was then transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking.
Cooke remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $50,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
