The suspect has been arrested in Mail delivery person hit and run.
On Saturday, January 24, 2026, at approximately 12:30 p.m., Amarillo police officers responded to a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian in the 5100 block of Susan. The victim, a mail delivery person, was struck by a white vehicle while walking from his mail truck to a residence. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. The driver involved left the scene.
During the investigation, officers were able to identify a possible suspect. This incident remains under investigation by the Amarillo Police Department Traffic Investigation Unit.
Investigators are actively working on this case, and we consider the circumstances of this incident very serious. At this time, there is no new information to release. Updates will be provided as they become available.
The Amarillo Police Department would also like to remind the public that if a person is involved in a traffic crash and another person is injured, the driver is required by law to stop and render aid. Failing to do so is a violation of Texas law and is classified as Failure to Stop and Render Aid, a third-degree felony. There is no separate charge related to the victim being a mail carrier.
On Tuesday, January 27, the charge of collision causing serious bodily injury was accepted against the suspect, Hunter Boydstun, 06/11/2000. He was arrested and booked into the Randall County jail. The victim has been released from the hospital.
