Victorville Police Department Accepting Applications for Victorville’s Police & Fire Activity League
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 26, 2026
Victorville, Calif. – The Victorville Police Department is proud to announce it is currently recruiting youth participants for the Victorville Police and Fire Activity League (PFAL), a long-standing community program designed to build positive relationships between young people and public safety professionals through mentorship, discipline, and structured physical activities.
PFAL has a rich history in California, first established in 1971 with the mission of providing safe, constructive outlets for youth while fostering trust and mutual respect between communities and law enforcement. Over the decades, PFAL programs statewide have helped guide thousands of young people through athletic training, leadership development, and life-skills education.
Locally, the Victorville Police Department’s PFAL program focuses on boxing and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, offering participants and opportunity to develop physical fitness, self-discipline, confidence, and respect under the guidance of trained coaches and public safety professionals. These programs emphasize teamwork, goal-setting, and personal accountability while promoting healthy lifestyles and positive decision making.
The PFAL program is open to youth in the Victorville area, 12-17 years of age. No prior athletic experience is required, and the program is designed to be inclusive, supportive, and development focused.
Parents and guardians interested in enrolling their children are encouraged to visit the Victorville Police Department in person to complete a PFAL application. Applications are available at the front desk during normal business hours.
