Two Texas Men Found in Possession of Scanners Used to Acquire Credit Card Information

SUSPECT(S): Niosbel Guillermo Marrero, 44-year-old, Resident of Texas
Alexander Polanco Lopez, 32-year-old, Resident of Texas
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at approximately 1:04 A.M., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station were actively patrolling in the area of Fourth Street and Milliken Avenue. Deputies observed a black GMC Yukon traveling down the roadway, and conducted a traffic stop for California vehicle code violations.
Deputies contacted the driver of the vehicle, later identified as Niosbel Marquez Marrero and his passenger, later identified as Alexander Polanco Lopez. During the investigation, deputies learned Marrero did not have a valid driver’s license, and Lopez had an active warrant out of Pennsylvania. During an inventory of the vehicle, deputies located a pin pad scanner, and multiple electronic devices believed to be scanners to acquire credit and debit card information. Multiple gift cards, cameras, key fobs, and a laptop were also located in the vehicle.
Marrero and Lopez were both arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for PC502(C)(1)(B)- Unauthorized Computer Access.
