K-9 Millie Assists Hesperia Detectives in Search Warrant Leading to Arrest for Child Exploitation

INCIDENT: PC 311.11- Possession of Child Pornography
LOCATION: 10000 block of Fifth Street, Hesperia
SUSPECT(S): Jose Escamilla, 21-year-old, Resident of Hesperia
SUMMARY: On Tuesday January 27, 2026, Hesperia Detectives, along with Detectives from the Crimes against Children Division and their K-9, Millie, served a search warrant in the 10000 block of Fifth Street, in the city of Hesperia.
Through an investigation Detective Loup discovered the suspect, later identified as Jose Escamilla, distributed approximately four hundred images and videos of confirmed child sexual abuse material that he was in posession of.
Escamilla was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center.
K-9 Millie is a specially trained Electronic Storage Detection (ESD) dog. She is skilled in locating concealed electronic devices, including cell phones, USB drives, and other digital devices, which assists in the recovery of critical evidence.
