Subject Arrested Following Armed Threats and Robbery
On January 28 at , 7:52 pm, Simi Valley Police officers responded to a report of a subject threatening patrons with a knife at El Patio Restaurant, located at 1925 Tapo Street. Upon arrival, officers contacted the suspect, identified as David Guerra, 30, who was still on scene and appeared to be intoxicated.
Investigating officers learned that Guerra approached multiple patrons inside the restaurant while they were dining, displayed a knife, and threatened to kill them. The initial victims left the location to contact police. Shortly thereafter, Guerra approached a second victim and stole a bracelet at knife point.
During contact with Guerra, officers recovered the stolen bracelet from his person. The knife used in the incident was later located hidden nearby.
Guerra was taken into custody and arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Robbery. Guerra was booked at Ventura Main jail.
