Extreme Cold Warning until 10:00AM Friday

* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below expected.

* WHERE...Northern Oneida County.

* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 10 AM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Temperatures will only warm to single digits above zero for highs on Friday. Overnight lows the next several nights will be below zero through Sunday morning. The prolonged cold could cause pipes to freeze or burst and an additional cold weather advisory, or possibly a warning will be needed for Friday and Saturday night.

* AFFECTED AREAS: NORTHERN ONEIDA

Instructions:

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. To prevent water pipes from freezing; wrap or drain or allow them to drip slowly. Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
