After the recent winter storm are local Fire Department volunteers are seeing an increased call volume for natural gas leaks/smells in residents. Here are some safety tips to help prevent this from happening

🔥 Clear Fire Hydrants Near Your Property
✔ Keep 3 feet clear on all sides
✔ Snow-covered hydrants slow emergency response
🟡 Clear Natural Gas Meters
✔ Remove snow buildup carefully
✔ Blocked or covered gas meters can cause natural gas to leak into the home
❌ Do NOT hit or damage meters or piping
🌬️ Clear Exterior Vents
✔ Keep furnace, dryer & exhaust vents clear
⚠ Blocked vents can cause carbon monoxide buildup
📬 Make Numbers Visible
✔ Clear house & mailbox numbers
✔ Must be visible from the roadway
