Operational Update: Normal Operations Resume Friday, Jan. 30

M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County, announces that all facilities, parks, programs, and services will open and operate under normal hours on Friday, January 30, 2026, following the recent winter snowstorm.

As winter weather continues to impact our region, residents are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the park system and to take steps to stay safe during cold conditions.

Warming Centers Update
The Department’s emergency warming centers closed at 6:00 pm on Thursday, January 29, 2026. For more information on warming centers and community centers, including locations and hours of operation, visit pgparks.com.

A list of community centers and facilities remains available on our website for those seeking indoor recreation, wellness opportunities, and services.

Childcare Updates for Friday, January 30:

  • Open: Prince George’s County Employees Childcare Center

  • Closed: Glenridge Childcare Center

  • Closed: All before/aftercare and preschool programs

Residents are urged to limit travel when possible, check on neighbors, especially older adults and individuals with disabilities, and take precautions to prevent cold-related injuries.
