The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating a person armed with a firearm in public. OPD patrol officers responded to the 2700 block of Fruitvale Avenue to investigate reports of an armed individual asleep inside a vehicle.
When officers arrived, they located the individual who had attempted to leave the area before surrendering. The individual was taken into custody, and a loaded firearm was recovered from the vehicle.
