Narrative:
|
On 01/29/2026, detectives assigned to the Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) were conducting high visibility proactive criminal enforcement in the City of Camarillo. At approximately 1300 hours, SEU Detectives observed suspicious behavior at a local motel parking lot in the city of Camarillo.
SEU Detectives subsequently conducted a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle near the 100 block of Ventura Boulevard. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Los Angeles resident, (S) Jordan Christopher Rems. Also in the vehicle was an (V) adult female who resided in West Covina.
During the traffic stop, it was learned Rems was on active San Diego County felony probation for a violation of California Penal Code Section 266h(a) – [Pimping] and 25400(c)(1) – [Carry Concealed Firearm in Vehicle with Previous Felony Conviction]. Based on Rem’s probation status, a search of the vehicle was conducted. During the search of the vehicle indicia consistent with pimping and prostitution was located.
An investigation into pimping / pandering ensued and both parties were interviewed. After the investigation, it was determined Rems was actively and knowingly engaged in pimping the adult female victim at a local motel in the Camarillo.
Additionally, it was learned there was an active no contact restraining order which was meant to protect the adult female victim from Rems. It also was discovered Rems was released from California State Prison approximately three weeks prior to this contact. It also was discovered the adult female victim was not only a protected party of the restraining order but was the victim of Rems’ previous crimes.
Rems was subsequently arrested for a violation of California Penal Code Section 266h(a) – [Pimping], California Penal Code Section 266i(a) – [Procures another person for the purpose of Prostitution], and California Penal Code Section 166(a)(4) – [Violation of a Court Order].
Rems was later transported and booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility for the aforementioned crimes where he currently awaits court proceedings.
