REMINDER: Overnight snow removal begins tonight on Bloomfield St.; Garage parking offered; Move your car; Street cleaning Monday
Key items in this update:
- Overnight snow removal starts tonight on Bloomfield: residents must remove cars
- Discounted overnight parking offered
- Washington Street loading zone snow removal continues today
- Street cleaning hours in effect tomorrow (Monday); excluding Bloomfield St.
All vehicles parked on Bloomfield Street between Observer Highway and 14th Street MUST be moved by 6 p.m. tonight, Feb. 1, to allow for overnight snow removal.
Overnight snow removal operations will enable the City to supplement daytime snow removal, clearing more snow from parking lanes on more blocks with fewer traffic disruptions.
Temporary No Parking signs have been posted, and those who do not move their vehicles may be subject to ticketing and towing. Discounted garage parking is available (see details below).
Public Works crews and contractors will work from both ends of the street towards the center to clear and transport snow from the parking lanes to the City’s stockpile locations as efficiently as possible.
Drivers are advised to anticipate intermittent rolling closures of Bloomfield Street throughout the night as snow removal operations occur. Hoboken Police Officers will be on site to assist with detours.
Bloomfield Street will re-open on a rolling basis as each block is cleared of snow.
Overnight snow removal operations on Bloomfield Street are anticipated to end by 7 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 2.
Snow removal operations involve large heavy equipment, including plows, payloaders, and dump trucks, which will cause noise. We apologize in advance for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as crews work to clear the parking lanes of snow.
Move your car during street cleaning hours
Starting on Monday, Feb. 2, alternate side parking (street cleaning) will resume for snow plowing operations of parking lanes.
Please note, plowing operations of a parking lane take significantly longer than street cleaning operations, and it is likely that not all street segments will be plowed during their allotted time. The Division of Public Works will return to any unplowed streets during their next scheduled street cleaning to plow the parking lane.
Community members should dig out and move their vehicles as any vehicle that remains parked will impede snow removal operations and be subject to a fine. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Please be advised that street cleaning on Bloomfield Street will not be enforced tomorrow, Monday, Feb. 2. All other regularly scheduled alternate side parking routes will be in effect tomorrow.

Please note that this schedule is subject to change, and not all streets are listed in this schedule as a number of roads in Hoboken are owned and maintained by Hudson County. The City is actively working with Hudson County to address these areas, with an additional schedule of overnight snow removal to follow as soon as possible.
Discount parking available
As a reminder, Resident On-Street Parking Permit holders can park in Municipal Garage B (28 Second St.) and the Midtown Garage (371 Fourth St.) at the discounted overnight rate of $6 between the hours of 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. Please note, garage parking is first come, first served.
Washington Street loading zones continue to be cleared today
The City is continuing to clear loading zones and fire hydrants along Washington Street today, Feb. 1.
Keep travel lanes clear; Report untreated property
As residents shovel out their vehicles, please do not shovel snow onto the sidewalk or back into the streets.
The City and Office of Emergency Management (OEM) also remind drivers to park only in legal parking spaces, as close to the curb as possible, and ask all residents to keep travel lanes, corners, and crosswalks clear of parked and double-parked cars. This will allow first responders and emergency services to operate safely. Vehicles parked illegally, including those blocking the roadway or pedestrian areas, are subject to ticketing and towing.
Property owners are responsible for clearing snow and ice from the sidewalks, curb cuts, and curb ramps adjacent to their property. Property owners who do not do so are subject to fines between $250 and $2,000 if they do not do so.
Those who wish to report any unshoveled or untreated properties, can email [email protected].
