Amarillo Police investigating early morning shooting.

On Sunday, February 1, 2026, at approximately 5:43 a.m., Amarillo Police officers were dispatched to the Discovery Center parking lot after reports of multiple gunshots being fired.

According to witnesses and the victim, all parties involved had attended a party earlier in the evening and later met at the Discovery Center parking lot. During the encounter, an argument occurred, and one suspect retrieved a firearm from a vehicle and began shooting at other vehicles. Several victims in one vehicle fled the area and returned fire. One victim sustained minor injuries.

A suspect vehicle was identified, and when officers located it, the driver fled and eventually crashed into a residence in the 3300 block of Line Avenue. One resident of the home was injured and transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car, Adreanna Anaya, 06-26-2001, was arrested and booked into the Potter County Detention Center for Evading in a Motor vehicle-causing bodily injury.

Officers learned Adreanna had dropped off the suspect at an area hospital with a gunshot wound. After he was treated for his injury, Sean Maes, 03-11-2008, was arrested for 8 counts of Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon and booked into the Potter County Jail.

This incident remains under investigation by the Amarillo Police Department Violent Crimes Unit.
