SUMMARY: On Sunday February 1, 2026, at about 2:13 a.m., deputy Victor Chavez saw a 2010 white Infinity G37 driving at high speeds in tight circles, commonly known as “donuts,” near the intersection of Sand Canyon Road and Campus Drive in the City of Yucaipa. Deputy Chavez used his emergency lights and siren to attempt an enforcement stop for California Vehicle Code 23109(c), Exhibition of Speed, and Vehicle Code 23103, Reckless Driving. The Infinity sped away from Deputy Chavez while the passengers threw beer cans out the windows.

The Infinity fled on Yucaipa Boulevard at speeds over 100 miles-per-hour and failed to stop for the circular red lights at numerous intersections. The pursuit traveled through residential neighborhoods and ended as it pulled into a driveway on Kentucky Street. The driver, Christian Rios, and two passengers Jerry Barrientos and Adrian Adono, jumped out of the vehicle and ran through the yard. Deputies caught all three and took them into custody without incident.

Rios was arrested for Exhibition of Speed, Reckless Driving, Felony Evading, and Driving Under the Influence. Both passengers were arrested for public intoxication and resisting a peace officer. All three were booked into the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino.

Per California Vehicle Code 23109.2, the Infinity was Impounded for 30 days.

The investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Deputy Chavez at the Yucaipa Police Station. Callers wishing to remain anonymous should contact We-Tip at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463) or go to wetip.com.
