Big River Man Arrested on Domestic Assault Warrant After Brief Search, Held on $50,000 Bail
DATE/TIME: Thursday, January 29, 2026, at approximately 3:00 p.m.
INCIDENT: P.C. 273.5(A) - Spousal Abuse
LOCATION: 6000 Block of Sittingbull Trail, Big River, CA
SUSPECT(S): RICHARD HILL, 40 Years Old, Resident of Big River, CA
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at approximately 11:53 a.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to the 7000 block of Nokomis Trail reference a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, deputies learned that the suspect had fled the area prior to their arrival. The suspect was identified as RICHARD HILL. During the investigation, deputies determined that HILL allegedly assaulted the victim. Despite an extensive search of the area, deputies were unable to locate HILL at that time and subsequently obtained an arrest warrant for his arrest.
On Thursday, January 29, 2026, at approximately 3:00 p.m., deputies located HILL at his residence near the 6000 block of Sitting Bull Trail. Deputies were able to take HILL into custody without incident. He was then transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. HILL remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $50,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
