WLWA Water Updates
WLWA System Update (2/2/26) ****PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE A SYSTEM CUSTOMER***
WLWA is beginning the process of valve testing and tank filling. This process will continue during the next 24-48 hours. This process must be strategic and very calculated to mitigate any ice remaining in the system from a week's worth of below freezing temps (ie- overpressure in the system could cause additional breaks and lengthen the process).
As the system is brought back into service, some residents will begin seeing water flow (likely late this afternoon and into this evening). In these cases, the water may flow for a short time and stop. This is normal, as lines are tested following major repairs. These properties will be primarily along the feeder/primary filling lines to and from Scott Tank and Brown Town Tank.
For those customers that do start to see water today, PLEASE remember that a BOIL ADVISORY remains in effect. Many of these lines have been stagnant for several days. Bringing your water to a boil helps mitigate the risk of bacteria and other contaminants.
Additionally, ADEM will begin testing both tanks as they begin to fill. WLWA cannot open the tanks for service until testing has been completed and results are within ADEMs rules for safe drinking water. This process can take up to 48 hours.
As previously stated, water distribution will continue until 4:30p today at WLWA offices on CR 200 and from Noon-4p at Cloverdale VFD #2 on CR 10.
Additional updates will follow as progress continues.
