Deputies in Needles Make Multiple Arrests the Week of January 26, 2026, thru February 1, 2026
Between January 26, 2026, and February 1, 2026, deputies from the Colorado River Station / Needles Police conducted multiple investigations that led to the arrest of the following individuals throughout the jurisdiction of the Colorado River Sheriff’s Station:
JOAN VALDEZ ACUNA, 26 Years Old, Resident of Phoenix, AZ
On Monday, January 26, 2026, at approximately 3:30 a.m., deputies contacted JOAN VALDEZ ACUNA during a traffic enforcement stop near the I 40 and US Hwy 95 following a vehicle pursuit after a reported possible train burglary. VALDEZ ACUNA was found to be in violation of CVC2800.2(A)- Felony Evading and CVC2800.4 - Evading Police/Wrong Way Driver. VALDEZ ACUNA was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. VALDEZ ACUNA remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with a bail amount of $300,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
HAROLD COOKE, 79 Years Old, Resident of Big River, CA
On Monday, January 26, 2026, at approximately 9:10 a.m., deputies contacted HAROLD COOKE during a traffic enforcement stop near Del Rey Drive and Papago Trail in Big River. During the stop, COOKE was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest for PC273.5(A)-Spousal Abuse. COOKE was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. COOKE remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with a bail amount of $50,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
ABRAHAM JEEHOON KIM, 27 Years Old, Resident of Torrance, CA
On Monday, January 26, 2026, at approximately 6:34 p.m., deputies contacted ABRAHAM JEEMOON KIM during an area check after a reported vandalism. During the investigation, KIM was found to be in violation of PC594(B)(1)- Vandalism over $400 and H&S11550(A)-Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance. KIM was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. KIM was later issued a citation and released from the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with a future court date.
TINA CUMMINGS, 64 Years Old, Resident of Needles, CA
On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at approximately 3:04 p.m., deputies contacted TINA CUMMINGS during a traffic enforcement stop near Market Street and Broadway Street. During the stop, CUMMINGS was found to be in violation of CVC23152(A)-Driving Under the Influence and CVC23152(B)-DUI with a Blood Alcohol Content over .08%. CUMMINGS was subsequently arrested and transported to a local hospital for evaluation. CUMMINGS was later issued a citation and released to a responsible party with a future court date.
MAJESTA KNIGHT, 41 Years Old, Resident of Needles, CA
On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at approximately 8:33 a.m., San Bernardino County Probation officers and deputies from the Colorado River Station contacted MAJESTA KNIGHT during a probation check near the 1600 block of Lillyhill Dr. During the check, KNIGHT was found to be in violation of H&S11378 – Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale. KNIGHT was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. KNIGHT remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with a bail amount of $30,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
RICHARD HILL, 40 Years Old, Resident of Big River, CA
On Thursday, January 29, 2026, at approximately 3:00 p.m., deputies contacted RICHARD HILL during a follow up investigation regarding an alleged domestic violence report. During the investigation, HILL was found to be in violation of PC273.5(A)-Spousal Abuse. HILL was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. HILL remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with a bail amount of $50,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
LESTER HANCOCK, 26 Years Old, Resident of Needles, CA
On Friday, January 30, 2026, at approximately 11:31 a.m., deputies contacted LESTER HANCOCK during a call for service reference a possible vehicle tampering. During the investigation, The vehicle tampering was unfounded however, HANCOCK was found to have two outstanding warrants for his arrest for H&S11364(A)-Possession of Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia and PC602(O)-Trespassing. HANCOCK was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. HANCOCK was later issued a citation and released from the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with a future court date.
JAMIE ACEVES RODRIGUEZ, 26 Years Old, Resident of Needles, CA
On Friday, January 30, 2026, at approximately 2:15 p.m., deputies contacted JAMIE ACEVES RODRIGUEZ near O Street and Davidson Street during an area check. During the investigation, ACEVES RODRIGUEZ was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest for H&S11351 – Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale. ACEVES RODRIGUEZ was subsequently arrested and transported to the High Desert Detention Center for booking. ACEVES RODRIGUEZ remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with no bail awaiting a court hearing.
MARCELL SCOTT, 37 Years Old, Resident of Needles, CA
On Friday, January 30, 2026, at approximately 8:57 p.m., deputies contacted MARCELL SCOTT during a traffic enforcement stop near US Hwy 95 and Goffs Rd. During the stop, SCOTT was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest for PC246.3(A)-Negligent Discharge of a Weapon, PC29800(A)(1)-Felon in Possession of a Firearm and PC30305(A)(1)-Felon in Possession of Unlawful Ammunition. SCOTT was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. SCOTT remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with a bail amount of $80,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
BRANDY RUIZ, 44 Years Old, Resident of Needles, CA
On Saturday, January 31, 2026, at approximately 1:01 a.m., deputies contacted BRANDY RUIZ during a traffic enforcement stop near W Needles Hwy and N Street. During the stop, RUIZ was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest for CVC14601.1(A)-Driving with a Suspended License. RUIZ was subsequently arrested, issued a citation, and released at the scene with a future court date.
MEADOW ANDERSON, 24 Years Old, Resident of Big River, CA
On Saturday, January 31, 2026, at approximately 9:24 a.m., deputies contacted MEADOW ANDERSON during a call for service reference a disturbance. During the investigation, ANDERSON was found to be in violation of H&S11377(A)-Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance. ANDERSON was subsequently arrested, issued a citation, and released at the scene with a future court date.
FRANKIE DELGADO, 47 Years Old, Resident of Kingman, AZ
On Sunday, February 1, 2026, at approximately 10:16 a.m., deputies contacted FRANKIE DELGADO during a traffic enforcement stop near K Street and Race Street. During the stop, DELGADO was found to be in violation of PC22210-Possession of a Dangerous Weapon - Leaded Cane. DELGADO was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. DELGADO remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with a bail amount of $30,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
CHRISTIAN MOLINA, 18 Years Old, Resident of Needles, CA
On Sunday, February 1, 2026, at approximately 8:51 p.m., deputies contacted CHRISTIAN MOLINA during a call for service reference an assault that just occurred. During the investigation, MOLINA was found to be in violation of PC245(A)(1)-Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Not a Firearm). MOLINA was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. MOLINA remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with a bail amount of $40,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
MICHAEL FOWLER, 61 Years Old, Resident of Lake Elsinore, CA
On Sunday, February 1, 2026, at approximately 10:15 p.m., deputies contacted MICHAEL FOWLER during a traffic enforcement stop near Needles Hwy and the I40 off ramp. During the stop, FOWLER was found to be in violation of H&S11377(A)-Possession of a Controlled Substance and H&S11395(B)(1)-Possession of a Controlled Substance with 2 or More Priors. FOWLER was subsequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. FOWLER remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department with a bail amount of $30,000.00, awaiting a court hearing.
The necessity to cite release arrestees is a result of several law changes and voter approved propositions over the last few years. In 2011, Assembly Bill 109 was passed by the legislature. This bill sent thousands of state prisoners to local jails, resulting in county jail overcrowding. Because of lawsuits capping the county jail population, it became necessary to release county jail inmates that were once held in custody. In 2014, the California voters passed Proposition 47, referred to as the Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act. This proposition reduced many crimes to misdemeanors such as Grand Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, Shoplifting, Forgery, Burglary, and Drug Possession. With a court mandated cap on the county jail inmate population, it is now necessary to cite release certain arrestees to adhere to the inmate population mandates.
