Special Weather Statement until 12:30AM Tuesday
A fast moving weather disturbance will sweep across northern Illinois late this evening into the early overnight hours bringing with it a quick burst of locally heavy snowfall. While snow may only last for an hour or so, it could fall quite heavily for a short time and drop a quick half inch to possibly an inch of accumulation, mainly near and south of the I-90 corridor. In addition to brief, but drastically reduced visibility, expect roads to quickly become snow covered leading to hazardous travel conditions. If traveling tonight, be prepared to encounter snow covered roads and use caution while driving in snow.
