INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Crash
LOCATION: Hook Boulevard / Arlette Drive, Victorville
INVOLVED PARTY: Ernesto Alonso Monterroza, 42, Resident of Victorville
SUMMARY: On Saturday, January 31, 2026, at approximately 06:49 p.m., deputies from the Victorville Police Station, and rescue personnel from the Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response, responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic crash that occurred near the intersection of Hook Boulevard and Arlette Drive, in the city of Victorville.
Upon arrival, it was determined a white Dodge Caravan struck a pedestrian in the roadway. The male pedestrian, later identified as Ernesto Alonso Monterroza, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Members of the Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team responded and assumed the investigation.
Hook Boulevard between Arlette Drive and Ashley Glen Drive was closed for the duration of the investigation.
