Narrative:

During December 2025 and January 2026, detectives assigned to the Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit (DEU) initiated an investigation into a Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO) operating within the City of Thousand Oaks and surrounding areas. As the investigation progressed, detectives identified Edel Eduardo Acevedo as an active participant involved in DTO’s narcotics trafficking activities.

On January 28, 2026, detectives arrested Edel Eduardo Acevedo and served a search warrant at his residence located in the City of North Hills. During the operation, investigators recovered approximately $11,000 in U.S. currency, cocaine, and approximately 300 illicit pills. The pills included tablets containing methamphetamine and Xanax.

In addition to the narcotics and illicit pills, investigators located sales-related paraphernalia, including electronic scales and packaging materials, further indicating the suspect’s involvement in large-scale narcotics trafficking and distribution.

Edel Eduardo Acevedo was arrested for possession of controlled substances for sale, and conspiracy.  He was booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility and remains in custody with bail set at $500,000.

Drug trafficking organizations (DTOs) pose a danger to community by distributing highly addictive and dangerous narcotics.  The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to dismantling DTOs, seizing illegal narcotics before they reach the streets, and protecting the community from drug trafficking organizations.

DEU consists of eight detectives dedicated to protecting East County communities through active investigations of illegal activities. If you have any information about criminal activity in the East County areas within the Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction, please contact Detective Jonathan San Jose at 805-371-8388.
