Police Seek Help Identifying Vehicle Burglary Suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., requests the public’s help identifying the vehicle pictured below in connection with an auto burglary that occurred on Monday, January 26, 2026.
At approximately 1:10 p.m., a male driver parked his 2025 white 4-door Mercedes-Benz GLE at ShopRite, 206 Springfield Avenue. The victim returned to his car at approximately 2:15 p.m. and observed that his briefcase, containing personal paperwork and business contracts, was missing.
The suspect vehicle is a black SUV, possibly a Honda Accord, with tinted windows. The car was observed entering the ShopRite parking lot at approximately 1:30 p.m. The driver parked next to the victim’s vehicle and remained there for some 8 minutes before exiting the parking lot.
